Jack has now done two interviews in preparation for when his first new single gets released. The first was with Radio Norge, one of the biggest radio stations in Norway. The other was with the regional TV channel TV Buskerud. In both interviews Jack spoke extensively about the ideas behind the album, the new sound and what it was like making the album in America as opposed to where it was originally planed to be made in London, UK. Yesterday Jack finished the final recordings for his new album. Between Nov 09 and June 10, Jack spent 12 weeks recording in Washington DC. Free Download Of Jack's Debut Album Now Stopped. Over 10,000 downloads

After over 10,000 downloads, from people all over the world, we have now removed the free download of Jack’s debut album from this website in preparation for the release of his fantastic second album. From now on, Jack’s first album, will only be available for sale from traditional internet music distributors such as Itunes.
As a small independent label we consider Jack’s debut album to have been a huge success. Our plan all along with this album was to get Jack’s name out to as many people as we could. The plan seems to have worked. Despite having absolutely zero budget to promote the album, it has now been downloaded by people from virtually every corner of the world, including countries whose name we can’t even spell… Mozambique, Martinique, Guam, Burkina Faso, Kazakhstan etc.. Most of the downloads have come from America. But visitors from virtually every European country have also downloaded the album. Together with the 20,000 album sales which was part of a promotional campaign with a retailer here in Norway, Jack’s debut album has been downloaded and sold over 30,000 times. Jack has been featured in over 50 newspaper articles, and has been interviewed many many times on Norwegian radio including Norway’s largest radio show NRK P1 Nitimen. Jack is now putting the finishing touches to his brilliant second album. We hope everyone who has his first album will enjoy his second, as well many new fans across the world. Thank you to the thousands of people who regularly visit this website and follow Jack’s progress. We hope you like the new album as much as we do……….ON A FINAL NOTE…. we have recently discovered a website in Russia which is a Download Aggregator which shows that Jack’s debut album has been illegally downloaded nearly 25 000 times from various illegal downloading sites across the world… this was quite surprising to say the least as we were offering the album off this website too… We cant confirm this, but it looks like Jack’s album total is closer to 55 000, with 35 000 of those being dowloads from either this site or others across the Internet.

Album Up Date

Today Jack flew back to Norway from Washington DC where he has been making his second album together with Danish record producer Thomas Johansen. The album was recorded over a period of 8 weeks between November 2009 and February 2010. Jack will now be flying to London to Mix the the album with respected English record producer Ian Grimble, who is widely regarded as one of the best mixers in the UK.

Jack is about to begin recording his second album. Recording will begin in Washington DC with Danish producer Thomas Johansen. Additional recording and the Mixing of the album will be done in London with the respected English record producer Ian Grimble. Jack has been writing songs all summer and the album has taken a very dark and sombre feel to it. This is due to personal events that have happened in Jack’s life since the recoding of his first album which have led him to a more reflective and darker style of songwriting.

R.I.P Pål Nicolay Kaper

Jack has taken two weeks off from the writing of his 2nd album due to the sudden death of his best friend Pål Kaper. Pål died on the 20th June and will be sorely missed by all his friends and family. His funeral was held yesterday and Jack sang in church. The album will now be dedicated to Pål to honor his memory. Click here to watch a short video of Pål’s life

Jack now has 8 songs finished and penciled in for his second album which has a working title of “The Glacier Bridge”. These 8 songs have been pooled from dozens of songs Jack has written over the last few months. The style is more rhythmical than his debut album “Heart & Mind” with emphasis being placed on beats and bass lines. National radio interview and opening for Silje Negaard In Bergen

Jack will spend the May bank holiday weekend in Bergen. On the 1st of May he will be interviewed on Norway’s largest radio station NRK P1 as a guest on the PILS show. Later that day he will open for the very popular Norwegian artist Silje Negaard at the Radisson SAS Hotel Bergen. The following day, he will return to the PILS show as a guest, again at the Radisson SAS Hotel. He will fly out of Bergen back to Oslo on 3rd May.

Second Album

This summer Jack will begin recording his second album with the English record producer Ian Grimble in his studio in London. Ian is one of the most respected producers in England with 35 top 30 hits to his name. He has worked with artists such as Travis, Texas, Manic Street Preachers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers… You can read his full discography here Ian Grimble Discograhpy. Since coming off his tour of Norway two weeks ago Jack has been focusing on writing songs for his next album. Songwriting has been going well. It also looks like Jack will also feature a song by his friend and mentor Micky Greaney. This will continue a trend that started on the first album with Jack covering Micky’s amazing song “What Matters Is’nt Easy”.

Jack's Tour Of Norway is finished...!

After 12 weeks on the road, 49 shows, 20 000 copies of Jack’s debut album, 19 airplanes, 14 coaches, 16 boats, 12 trains, lots of taxi’s, a hired car, 31 newspaper articles, 12 radio interviews and 3 tv interviews, Jack has now played his very last show on his current tour of Norway. Its been a huge success, massive exposure for Jack and a great experience for him. The tour has also propelled the downloads of his album past 6000 now. There are now over 27 000 copies of Jack’s album in people homes and offices. Jack is now concentrating 100% on writing his next album which he begins recording in London in the coming weeks. Within one hour of a notice being posted on the Hifisentral Website, a Scandinavian website dedicated to specialist Hi Fi’s and music, we have received a massive flood of downloads of Jack’s album. Although Blogs on the net have driven lots of traffic to Jack’s site, we have never experienced such a massive and immediate response resulting in so many downloads. And the downloads are still happening as we post this news item. We think the downloaders are curious to hear this album having been recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studio and mastered at Abbey Road London. Also because it features one of the best drummers in the world. Big thanks to Olav.

Jack has 8 weeks off from his extensive tour of Norway that began in November. The tour starts up again in mid february and lasts until the end of March. During this time off Jack will be writing songs for his second album which has the working title of “The Glacier Bridge”. The producer of this album is still to be confirmed although Jack has been talking to potential producers already.

The “Jack Rubinacci & Lene V Inspiration Tour” is one of the very first co operations of its kind, between a major retailer and an artist. The deal involves Lene V purchasing 20,000 copies of Jack’s debut album Heart & Mind, which they will give away to their customers in their shops. Jack will also be playing 50 concerts in Lene V’s stores all across Norway. The tour starts in the north in Kirkenes, traveling right down to the south in Flekkefjord. Jacks second single “How Long” has just come off the NRK P1 radio playlist. It was on their playlist for an amazing 8 weeks giving Jack a lot of exposure here in Norway. NRK is the Norwegian equivalent of the BBC, and P1 is the largest radio station in the country. NRK have been brilliant to Jack and we are very grateful.

Well over 4000 people have downloaded Jack’s album in the last 8 weeks. Statistics show us that 70% of the downloads have come from the US, although we have had downloads from such far off places as Morocco, Vietnam and even Iran.!! Most downloaders have been driven to the site by the vast amount of internet blogs that have been written about Jack and his album and word of mouth. The Norwegian downloads seem to have come about directly after the vast exposure Jack has received in Norway including a feature article in the main newspaper Aftenposten and large radio interviews on NRK radio.

So far, four artists signed to Major Label record companies from all over Europe, have approached Jack about covering some of his songs from his debut album. We feel however, that it is not in Jack’s best interest to have other people covering his songs until his debut gets a chance to be heard. After it’s released, it’s a different matter.

Album To Be Finished At Abbey Road Studios

Jack will be travelling to London on 2 March to get his album mastered at the world famous Abbey Road Studio’s. This will be Jack’s second visit to the legendary recording studio with his first being back in May 07.

Playing For Al Gore At Nobel Peace Prize Event

On the 10th December Jack and his band will be taking part in the Nobel Peace Prize event in honour of the winner Al Gore. He will be playing a charity concert for the Norwegian charity Reddbarna (Save The Children) with Al Gore in attendance.

Incredibly…! 6 out of the 12 songs on Jack’s debut album, have now been regularly featured on Norwegian radio. These songs are “This Story”, “Satisified”, “Chinese Whisper”, “Talking”, “She Makes Me Feel” and one radio station even began featuring “How Long” but quickly stopped as the song is the second single and has not yet been officially released.
